Tombstone

“To be reborn you have to die before dying.” #Rumi

I have had a terrible headache for 3 consecutive days today bordering migraine like sharp pain and the fever doesn’t help either. But after stepping out to get some sun today, i thought about what was the silver lining in this situation?

Classic me, give me lemons and i’ll turn them into lemonade :-).

And my long walk got me thinking about 2 things -

  1. What will my Tombstone say?

  2. And What will my obituary read?

Think all that thinking didn’t do much to fix the headache, hahaha, but i did walk away at least assured i had a tombstone and obituary picked :-)This is my first attempt at both, so be kind. And if this be my last attempt, causing knowing me i don’t generally invest time thinking about such heavy stuff, may this guide whoever steps up to organise the passage onward. Also if you are reading this do share your thoughts as comments on it as well as what would your responses to both those questions be in your case?

My tombstone should read:

“I am alive like you, and I am standing beside you.

Close your eyes and look around, you will see me in front of you"

"She was LOVE....

The kind you want to walk together with

The moment you see eye-to-eye.

Her radiant smile served to remind...

'This too shall pass'.

A barakah she was from The Infinite Intelligence."

My Obituary would read:

A sexy loving & dearly loved Wife, loving Mother, a dear treasured Friend, a rock-star Grandma too

She left us in the early morning just as the sun-born Piscean Aries was she,

When softly came the dawn.

And since she never said good-bye,

It’s hard to think she’s gone.

Oh, too she left us weeping,

Lonely and with aching hearts;

But we pray she has been gifted Paradise (Ameen),

Where sweet joy will ne’re depart.

A sexy loving & dearly loved Wife, loving wise Mother, a dear friend,

A rock-star Grandma too,

This is the legacy we have from you.

You taught us love and how to fight,

You gave us strength, you gave us might.

A stronger, loving, kind person would be hard to find,

And in your heart, you were always generous and kind.

You had our best interests always at heart,

Not just as a wife, a mother, a friend but also grandma.

For all of us you gave your best,

And we can softly hear you say,

“Don't cry for me. If you live, I smile.

Take the pride, the honesty, walk the royal mile.

Gently push the boundaries

Let the love and harmony be your trusty tools.

Spread the word of #unity everywhere you go.

Let your inner innocence & purity never lose its glow.

Be the peace you seek on Earth,

Chase your wildest dreams,

Live a life filled with passion, purpose, abundance and love.

Don’t grieve too long, for now am in my eternal abode.

Lift your head, and #Smile with me.”

Now the time has come for you to rest.

So go in peace,

Your Love in our hearts,

We’ll eternally keep.

In our hearts the memory lingers,

Sweetly, tender, fond and true,

There’s not a day, that we will not think of you.”

And…

Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep

“I am not there.

I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there.”
